How to give your home a facelift that protects

Soffits, fascias, and guttering play a crucial role in protecting your home. They keep out the elements that can lead to damp and water damage, as well keeping your home free from unwanted pests. They also serve an important aesthetic purpose, covering the exposed rafters and making your home look more attractive.

So, it may not seem like the most glamorous of renovations, but by looking after this important trio, not only will you be defending your home against damage, you’ll be giving it an instant facelift too.

What are fascias and soffits?

The fascia is the length of board that you'll find along the lower edge of your roof. It usually supports the lower edge of the bottom row of roof tiles, as well as carry all the guttering – no mean feat when there's a heavy downpour.

The soffit board lies underneath the fascia. This is what you typically see when look up from outside your home. It forms an important part of how your home looks, but equally ensures ventilation to the roof area to stop condensation building up and rot setting in.

A totally maintenance-free option

It’s long been proven that it’s not best practice to cover the old timber with PVC-u boards. Instead, for a maintenance-free solution that looks fresh, PVC-u boards can be fixed directly onto the rafter ends. A UPVC fascia box end finishes the look, housing the fascias and soffits at each gable end.

It's a practical, long-term solution, which will give your home a brand-new look.
